Why is it that art, teaching and nature have been such important parts of my life? There may be many reasons for this, beginning in my childhood, but the best way to sum up the subject of my work is: beauty is found in the simplicity of the nature around us.
As an educator, I hope to teach students about the world of art. I feel that it is essential for all people to have some form of art in their lives. I also believe students should not only learn how to create art, but be exposed to the relevance art has on our everyday lives. To many, art serves as an escape or release from the complications of life; for others art is a fascination that eventually guides one to a life in the field of art. As a secondary art teacher it is my job to find that potential and expand thought, ideas and perceptions to guide my students reach their full potential. For my own growth, I hope to evolve with my students and produce more work exemplifying nature and the beauty of the world.
