Chemistry, Topics in Science
and Geology

Hi and welcome to Mr. Haydon’s page on the high school website!

The ’11—’12 year is my sixth school year here in St. Joe and I love it here!  I taught in a part-time position at Upton Middle School for the second half of the '06--'07 year and was then fortunate enough to be brought on full-time to the high school the following year.  At the high school, I have taught Biology, Chemistry, Forensics, and Topics in Science.   I have completely fallen in love with this area and hope to stay in St. Joe!

I am originally from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (Iron River), and moved down to Grand Rapids for school at Grand Valley State University. I received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Grand Valley with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry, as well as my Michigan Teacher’s Certification.

My daily schedule is below for your convenience. Along with this, I am coaching Girls Junior Varsity Golf this fall and Girl’s Track at Upton this spring and am really enjoying being able to work with the kids on this type of level as well!

"0" Hour - 7:00 - 7:55 AM - Chemistry

1st Hour – 8:00 – 9:09 AM – Chemistry
2nd Hour – 9:14 – 10:12 AM – Chemistry
3rd Hour – 10:17 – 11:15 AM – Chemistry

4th Hour – 11:20 AM – 12:55 PM – Planning Period and Lunch
5th Hour – 1:00 – 2:00 PM – Geology
6th Hour – 2:05 – 3:05 PM – No Class, teaching "0" Hour instead

My contact information is posted above—please feel free to let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Email is the best way to reach me—I will rarely not respond within the day (even on weekends). Please also check the page periodically, as I will be posting course information!

Thanks for stopping by!
