"Mi casa es su casa"
¡Bienvenidos, amigos! Thank you for visiting my home in cyberspace! Here you will be able to access homework information, class activities, upcoming projects, future events, and more.
This is my seventh year teaching in the school district, and I feel blessed to be a member of the SJHS family. I have been a professional educator since 1981. During this time, it has been a privilege to share my passion for learning and international travel with a multitude of students while introducing them to the beauty of the Spanish language and culture.
Originally a Havana, Cuba via New York City girl, I moved to Michigan to attend Andrews University. There, I earned a Bachelor's degree in Spanish and French, and received secondary education certification. A few years later, I also completed a Master's degree in Educational Administration and Supervision.
In addition to academic pursuits, the concept of a traveling classroom is very dear to me. I have organized and led numerous educational tours to Mexico and Spain, providing unforgettable travel experiences for my students.
Learning a second language is a joyous challenge. It requires personal commitment and hard work, but the rewards are immeasurable. As we embark on this memorable journey, it is my hope that you will be inspired to develop life-long skills while you learn to build bridges of friendship and understanding with people from different cultures around the world.
Please feel free to contact me via e-mail or phone any time. Through our mutual collaboration and support from home and school, we will ensure your success in Spanish class.
Happy learning!
Sra. Sheppard
