Welcome to my webpage! Fourth grade at E.P. Clarke is a exciting time because we have such fun learning and exploring together. Parent input and help are welcomed and valued in my classroom. Inside Room 119 you will find an active, hands-on place to learn with lots of technology integrated into the curriculum. Discussion and ideas are valued and encouraged. My goal is simply to make this the best year ever for your child!
I have lived in St. Joseph since graduating from college. My first teaching position was at Trinity Lutheran School in St. Joseph. After 17 years at Trinity, I was hired by St. Joseph Public Schools to teach fourth grade at E.P. Clarke Elementary. During my years at Clarke, I have met and worked with many wonderful families.
I graduated from Concordia University in River Forest, IL with my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and Guidance. Later I received a Masters from MSU in Classroom Teaching and also a specialist endorsement in Holistic Health from WMU. I have taken an extensive amount of additional course work in Educational Technology from a number of Universities.
My husband, Jim, and I have two grown daughters. Jamie graduated from MSU and is an engineer for Nestle Purina in Dunkirk, NY. Jamie and her husband, Travis, have two children, Ella, 3 1/2 yrs, and Max who is 17 months old. Our youngest daughter, Katie graduated from U of M and was an engineer for Boeing in Seattle. She has recently married and Ben and Katie now live in White Plains, NY where Ben works for IBM. My husband also has another daughter, Lisa, who lives in Buffalo with her husband, Richard and two our two oldest grandchildren, Rick and Ali.
I am pleased to have the opportunity to get to know you and your child better. Together we can make this year the best year yet!
