"Our Lincoln School Family will guide each student towards a bright and successful future."
Welcome Back to School!
The 2013-2014 school year is going to be filled with new learningopportunities for all of us! Thanks to the generosity of ourcommunity, Lincoln's classrooms have all been transformed into21st century learning environments. Each room is equipped with aninteractive white board, sound field enhancement, a document camera, and flexible furnishings. Several portable computer labs have beenadded to use with the campus-wide wireless access to provideopportunities for technology integration across curriculum areas. Students will have access to online learning resources as well.
Inaddition to our new technology, improved security, andnew windows, restrooms, and gym floor, we also have a brand new K-12 Language Arts program. Theprogram focuses on reading comprehension and phonics/word study skillsthrough student-centered instruction. Our teachers have spent thesummer learning about their new teaching resources and are very excitedabout the books and activities they will use with students. When youvisit school this year, you'll notice a blend of whole group and smallgroup instruction in all of our classrooms. Our students are going tolove it!
I look forward to our continued partnership in your child's education. Three great ways to stay involved this year:
Designated learning time every night. Establishing clear home expectations and routines for homework, nightlyreading, and self-directed learning activities helps to ensure aterrific school year. With busy fall sports schedules this can bedifficult, but starting the year out right will make learning apriority all year long.
Attend PTO meetings and events. These special networking opportunities provide support to you asparents.
