"Our Lincoln School Family will guide each student towards a bright and successful future."

Welcome to our Lincoln School Family and to the 2014-2015 school year!

Each school year is filled with new learning opportunities for all of us!

Thanks to the generosity of our parents and community, and the continued support from the St. Joseph Public Schools Foundation, and our own Parent Teacher Organization, Lincoln students have the opportunity to learn in 21st century learning environments.  Each room is equipped with an interactive white board, sound field enhancement, a document camera, and flexible furnishings.  Several computer labs, both fixed and portable, are utilized with the campus-wide wireless access to provide opportunities for technology integration across curriculum areas. Students also have access to multiple online learning resources as well.

Our students will be greeted and cared for each day by a highly qualified faculty and a support staff second to none.  Our teachers, life-long learners themselves, have spent their summer learning about Response to Intervention (RTI), Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), and several other topics.  We're excited to start the school year!  When you visit school this year, you'll continue to notice a blend of whole group and small group instruction in all of our classrooms.  Our students are going to love it!

I look forward to our continued partnership in your child's education.  Four great ways you can help your child this year:

  • Make school a priority.  An education is the most important gift you can give your child.  Instill in your child the importance of being to school each day and being on time.  Mornings can be tough!  But, by setting the bar high and modeling clear morning routines, everyone can have a great start to their school day by being to school, ready to learn, no later than 8:25 a.m.

  • Designate learning time every night. Establishing clear home expectations and routines for homework, nightly reading, and self-directed learning activities helps to ensure a terrific school year.  With busy fall sports schedules this can be difficult, but starting the year out right will make learning a priority all year long.

  • Attend PTO meetings and events. These special networking opportunities provide support to you as parents.

  • Sign up for web page alerts to stay informed. It's simple to set up and makes life easier for you!  When setting up your website user account, please be sure to turn on e-alerts from classroom teachers and our Lincoln School homepage. You'll also want to turn off the e-alerts from last year's teachers.  If you need assistance, please contact the school office.

Thank you for all you do at home and at school.  Together we make a huge difference for our students!

Sincerely,

Michael Wagner
