My name is Kimberly Barron and I am a first grade teacher at Brown Elementary. I have 5 boys; Steven 29, Ryan 28, Casey 27, Patrick 25, and Ethan 24 ! I grew up on the east side of our state ( the oldest of 6 children ), in a little town named Montrose. After high school, I attended Lake Superior State University and the University of Michigan, where I earned my bachelor degree and teaching certificate. I continued my post-grad work at another great Michigan Institution, Western Michigan University, and consider myself a west side transplant!
I moved to Saint Joseph 29 years ago and I cannot imagine living anywhere else! The natural beauty of Southwest Michigan is a wonder to behold and Saint Joseph, in particular, is a beautiful community to live in. All 5 of my children attended Saint Joseph Public Schools and I feel blessed that they had that opportunity. I also count myself among the most fortunate of educators to work for a district that values their students, families, and educators so much that they are continually progressing and providing the highest quality educational experiences possible.
If you run into me outside of school, you may find me enjoying the beautiful local beaches, reading, enjoying the great shops and restaurants in our city, or just out for a walk in our lovely downtown. Another favorite pastime for me is working out; but, my favorite thing to do is TEACH! I have been told that I am an eternal optimist and I believe that each of us has a valuable gift to offer the world. I can't wait to find out what your child's gift will be! This is going to be a great year and I am looking forward to experiencing it with your family. I believe that communication is key to any relationship and you can count on me to do my part in the school to home partnership. Together, we will prepare your child for a bright future. Together, we will "Inspire. Innovate. Achieve."*
