I have been a counselor for over 20 years, my first 10 years working with elementary and middle school students. The last 10+ years have been working with high school students and I can honestly say I learn something new almost every day.
I received my Bachelor's Degree from Central Michigan University (Go Chips!) and my Master's Degree from Western Michigan University. I was a first generation college student, crediting my parents for always believing I could do anything I set my mind to - because they believed it, I believed it.
I am blessed to be in an occupation that inspires me, that challenges me, and that allows me to help young people realize their potential. The primary goal is to build relationships in which students allow me to help them plan for life after high school-through delivery of a comprehensive school counseling program. Classroom guidance, individual student planning, responsive services, and system support are the main pillars of an effective program.
I have been married to Mike for 22 years, and through that union brought my greatest blessings of all - the privilege of being mother to Sydney, Simon and Sophie. This summer we added a new member to the family - a rescue dog, Scarlet.
