The monthly print issue also includes submitted student art and writing, known as a literary insert. The May issue includes an additional complete literary magazine. The 2015-16 literary magazine, Ambivalence, received an NCTE PRESLM ranking of Excellent. The 2014-15 literary magazine, Tessellate, received an NCTE PRESLM ranking of Excellent.
The 2016-17 Wind-Up received a Silver ranking from MIPA. The 2015-16 Wind-Up received a Gold ranking from MIPA. In the past, Wind-Up has been a winner of the Columbia Scholastic Press Association’s Medalist Award, the Quill and Scroll’s George H. Gallup Award, and it had been named Best Newspaper by the Michiana Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists for five years in a row.
